We are currently holding an exhibition in the Beacon Centre, North Shields. This is one of the North Shields 800 events and is the culmination of 6 months’ work interviewing residents and business owners in the town. Contributors to our North Shields Voices project were asked what their favourite place or space in the town was and why it was special to them. We also asked them why they chose to live in the town and, finally, we asked them to share their hopes for the future for the town and themselves.

The exhibition of photos features many of them in their favourite places with a QR code to take you to their story on our website. Visitors also have the opportunity to place a pin on our map to show where their favourite place in North Shields is and it’s getting pretty crowded. If you haven’t seen the exhibition yet, it is on until Friday 5th December so call in if you are in town. But don’t worry if you can’t as you can access all the stories on this website by following the link at the end of this article.
