The Wolsington Pub, Then and Now

It was used as an air-raid shelter during World War II

In this audio memory, contributor Tommy Hewitt recalls the Wolsington pub which was near to his home in Appleby Street North Shields.

In 2012 the pub is still standing but boarded up and waiting to be incorporated into a new housing development on the site of the old Smith’s Docks where Tommy worked for many years.
