St Valentine’s Day, 14th February is a date that goes back at least to the Middle Ages as associated with romantic love.
Believe it or not we don’t have any memories of how we in the North East have celebrated Valentine’s Day so we’re asking you if you can help us start a collection of memories. For example, did you get engaged or married on 14th February? Was it a ‘down on one knee’ event or something less romantic?
Our volunteer team have had a few thoughts and can confess to either forgetting all about it and being on the receiving end of a telling off, to being showered with flowers and chocolates. In one case there was even a marriage proposal – how wonderfully romantic!!
